Buriram (THAI) - March 12th, 2017
Excellent 9th place performance for spaniard Román Ramos at the Circuit de Chang of Buriram (Thailand) valid for the second round of the World Superbike Championship.
The Kawasaki Go Eleven rider on FALCO Eso LX Boots started the weekend with some set-up problems, reflected in a discreet 19th position on the starting grid.
In the first heat he was able to climb to 15th place by hitting a point for championship classification, but his best performance was reserved for Sunday's race.
Ramos made a good start and soon began to recover positions, reaching the top-10 finishing in ninth position.
In the overall standings, he now occupies the 13th position.
Román Ramos #40: "The weekend was complicated till the first race. We made many efforts to get the fast lap, and the pace was not good. In the first race started well and I rode faster than in training, but I made some mistakes and finished 15th.
In the second we took a big step forward, and I'm very happy. I had fun driving and I was steadily recovering. At the end of the race Forés was close, I gave everything to achieve it, I think with two more laps would have achieved. I'm very happy for the team's work, incredible! We will arrive at the home race in Aragon well prepared. I want to thank my team for their work this weekend."
